ABC Careers In Construction Post Event

Tens of thousands of apprentices and craft students train in more than 20 construction crafts through a national ABC network of 68 Chapter offices across the country.

  • •  NCCER offers credit to veterans for their military experience. The Hard Hat Heroes program converts military experience into an NCCER transcript that can be built upon to earn industry certification.
  • •  For employees of ABC Member Companies, an apprenticeship program is available allowing adults to earn while they learn and become proficient journeymen in their crafts at an accelerated rate.
  • •  For craftsmen working in construction, ABC Central Texas is an NCCER Accredited Assessment Center. We offer Knowledge Assessments to certify journeymen in their crafts. Study Hall is available to prepare for assessment.

Diversity & Inclusion

ABC demonstrates its commitment to shaping an industry that is welcoming to all people—where employees and suppliers are limited only by their own potential—by hosting an annual Diversity & Inclusion Summit, recognizing member leadership through the National Diversity Excellence Awards and creating Diversity Resource Groups. DRGs bring people with common interests and characteristics together to help articulate, promote and support the needs of certain constituencies. Each group has a leader who is dedicated construction industry’s workforce, workplace and marketplace from the perspective of a single demographic faction, and participation is open to all members of ABC.

Encouraging a united construction industry where diversity is celebrated and embraced, inclusion is fostered, and equity is apparent is the ultimate goal of Construction Inclusion Week:

  • • Champion inclusion empowering us to reach our full potential, fuel innovation, and enhance connections with our employees, clients, and the communities we serve.
  • • Harness and leverage the capabilities and global reach of the construction industry and its affiliates to cultivate and perpetuate a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

We recognize and understand that each of our firms may be at different places in our diversity, equity, and inclusion journeys. The intent is that Construction Inclusion Week fosters conversations that create alignment and take us further on this journey for our people and industry partners. If we genuinely want to attract, retain, and develop the best talent for our industry and maximize the diversity of our suppliers, we must grow our industry’s culture to be truly inclusive.
